The Unconventional Productivity Tip You Need

Sustainable Goal Achievement for Those Overwhelmed By Their Ambitions

Hey friend!

The holiday season is upon us, and with it often comes an all-too-familiar sense of weariness. There’s a palpable shift in energy; tasks seem heavier, focus wanes, and a general fog descends upon us. December’s arrival has many of us eyeing the finish line, ready to collapse into a year-end respite.

Contrary to the hustle mantra that saturates our feeds (#thedreamisfreebutthehustleissoldseparately), I’m here to offer a counterintuitive whisper amidst the loud cries of ‘push through’ – don’t buy into the hype.

Imagine a holiday season defined by tiny, manageable steps, realistic goals, and a sense of calm productivity. Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it?

The truth is, non-stop hustle isn’t the badge of honor we’ve been led to believe. It’s the fast track to burnout. To stay sharp and truly productive, what you need is rest.

Here’s my holiday productivity tip that flips the script: Add more white space in your calendar.

Gasp! Yes, intentional blank spaces. No meetings, no appointments, no jam-packed schedules with the kids. Just leave it open.

This white space is your breathing room. It’s the pause between the notes that makes the music of your day more melodious. It helps manage the daily load, recharges your batteries, and gives your brain the downtime it desperately needs.

So, here’s your gentle nudge. Each day, carve out a small sanctuary of time and schedule more substantial blocks throughout the month. Treat this white space as sacred, a buffer against the holiday rush, and watch as it transforms your season into something a little more serene.

May your holiday season be merry, bright, and blissfully unhurried.

ONE TINY ACTION TO TRY THIS WEEK

Pull out your calendar or weekly schedule and carve out a few minutes every day (as little as 30 minutes will do). Then, do nothing. Just breathe! Or stare into the void. 😂

More details are coming soon-ish!

Dream big and act boldly,

Hey, Tiny Action Taker! I’m still buzzing from the very first Hobby Hour I hosted last week! I got the idea a few weeks ago, and instead of overthinking or complicating it, I just went for it—imperfectly. The response was incredible, with several of you joining me live, and let me tell you, that hour flew by. I had a great time creating alongside everyone, and I left feeling full and inspired. I’m already looking forward to doing it again this week! Moments like this remind me why it’s...

Hey friend! Is it still okay to say “Happy New Year”? It’s not January 1st, but it feels appropriate since this is my first newsletter of 2025. In past years, my Januarys were all about big, bold goals. December was a whirlwind of vision boards, planners, and ambitious resolutions. I’d start the year buzzing with energy, certain this would be the year I accomplished it all. But by mid-January, that excitement often faded, replaced by overwhelm. Sound familiar? This year, I’m taking a...

Hey friend! Life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs, doesn't it? For months, I've been eagerly anticipating my move back to my hometown early this summer. But what I didn't anticipate was the mental juggling act required to navigate building a new house while simultaneously selling my current one. With so much to plan for and uncertainty surrounding the completion date of our new home, my productivity and focus have taken a hit lately. It wasn't until fairly recently that I came to...
