Hey, Tiny Action Taker!

I’m still buzzing from the very first Hobby Hour I hosted last week! I got the idea a few weeks ago, and instead of overthinking or complicating it, I just went for it—imperfectly. The response was incredible, with several of you joining me live, and let me tell you, that hour flew by. I had a great time creating alongside everyone, and I left feeling full and inspired. I’m already looking forward to doing it again this week!

Moments like this remind me why it’s important to take tiny actions even when things aren’t perfect. So often, we get stuck in overthinking, waiting for the “perfect moment” or the “right way” to start. But what if we just… started?

Taking my own advice, I’ve been working on an idea I’ve been sitting on for a while. I realize I’ve been trying to find ALL the answers for how I can help people get into action from my head instead of with you. The Problem with "Just Be Consistent"

Ever felt like the phrase “just be consistent” is a motivational slap in the face? You’re not alone. On the surface, it sounds simple, like the golden ticket to achieving your goals. But if you’ve ever tried to stick with something, you know how quickly that advice can feel…well, useless.

Here’s the thing: consistency is valuable. It’s the key to progress, the cornerstone of success, and all those other clichés we’ve heard a million times. But nobody talks about why it’s so hard.

Because consistency isn’t just about doing the thing. It’s about navigating everything that stands in your way.

  • Overwhelm – Feeling like there’s too much to do, so you freeze.
  • Perfectionism – That little voice whispering, If you can’t do it perfectly, it’s not worth doing at all.
  • Fear – Of failure, of success, or of wasting time on something that doesn’t pay off.
  • All-or-nothing thinking – Missing a day turns into missing a week, and suddenly, it feels pointless to start again.

The real challenge isn’t starting. It’s the stopping and starting. You get excited, make progress, then life happens, and getting back on track feels impossible. But consistency isn’t about never stopping. It’s about getting better at starting again.

So, how do you make consistency easier?

👉 Lower the bar. Make it small enough that it feels easy to do. One sentence instead of a whole chapter. Five minutes of movement instead of an hour-long workout.

👉 Redefine progress. It’s not about perfect streaks. What matters is showing up often enough to build momentum.

👉 Expect setbacks. Skipping a day isn’t a failure. It’s life. The key is learning to restart without guilt.

👉 Build flexibility into your consistency. Instead of rigid rules, create adaptable habits. If you can’t do Plan A, have a Plan B (or even a Plan C).

Instead of asking, “Why can’t I be more consistent?” try asking, “What’s making consistency hard for me right now?” That’s where the real work begins.

✨ One Tiny Action To Try This Week

The Two-Minute Rule: Whatever habit, project, or task you struggle to be consistent with, shrink it down to something you can do in two minutes or less.

  • Want to write more? Write one sentence.
  • Struggling to exercise? Do one stretch.
  • Need to declutter? Tidy up one item.

The goal isn’t to accomplish everything—it’s to show up in the smallest way possible. Because once you start, it’s easier to keep going. And even if you stop after two minutes? You still made progress.
