All-or-nothing thinking is keeping you stuck

Hey friend!

For a long time, I was caught in the trap of all-or-nothing thinking, believing that if something couldn’t be done perfectly, it wasn’t worth doing at all. Can you relate?

Here’s how it played out for me:

  • I wanted to get fit but felt discouraged unless I could commit to a rigorous 5-day-a-week gym routine.
  • I aimed to cut sugar from my diet but thought it pointless unless I eradicated every trace of it in one go.
  • I planned to start investing but held back, believing it wasn’t substantial unless I had a large sum to begin with.

This mindset is like believing that if you can’t run a full marathon right away, then you shouldn’t bother running at all. It completely overlooks the value of running smaller distances and gradually building up your stamina and skills.

We often believe that only grand, sweeping changes count as progress. The media glorifies big leaps, making us crave instant life overhauls and overlook the power of small, consistent steps.

But here’s the truth: while grand changes are alluring, they’re also hard to sustain and can disrupt our lives unexpectedly. Tiny actions, on the other hand, might lack the glamour of big leaps, but they’re the sustainable, manageable, and less intimidating path to real progress.

Committing to small actions means you’re more likely to maintain consistency and witness genuine progress over time. It’s about enjoying the journey as much as the destination. For instance:

  • Opting for a 15-minute daily workout is better than waiting indefinitely for the perfect time to commit to a full gym routine.
  • Gradually reducing sugar is more sustainable and realistic than going cold turkey.
  • Starting your investment journey with $50 a month is a great step towards financial growth.

Introducing the 28-Day Tiny Actions Challenge

To help break free from this all-or-nothing mindset, I’ve created the 28-Day Tiny Actions Challenge. This challenge will help you reduce resistance and take manageable steps toward your goals.

Here’s what your challenge pass includes:

  1. 28 Daily Email Prompts: You’ll receive an email with a tiny action to complete each day. These simple, manageable tasks will propel you forward, building momentum and confidence.
  2. Tiny Action Tracker: Progress you can see is progress you can feel. The Tiny Action Tracker is your personal progress diary. Jot down your daily actions, reflect on your journey, and watch as your small steps compound.
  3. Tiny Action Toolkit: Packed with useful tools, tips, and carefully curated resources.
  4. Access To A Private Community: You’re not alone! Join fellow tiny action-takers in embracing the power of small steps. Share your progress, celebrate your wins, and enjoy the collective energy of a community focused on growth.

If you're nodding along, feeling the stirrings of excitement, or even a hint of curiosity, I invite you to join me. Say yes to breaking free from the "all or nothing" mindset. Say yes to progress, no matter the size. Say yes to the 28-Day Tiny Actions Challenge.

Let's prove that the smallest actions can lead to the most significant transformations. The challenge kicks off on February 1st. I can't wait to see you inside.

Hey, Tiny Action Taker! I’m still buzzing from the very first Hobby Hour I hosted last week! I got the idea a few weeks ago, and instead of overthinking or complicating it, I just went for it—imperfectly. The response was incredible, with several of you joining me live, and let me tell you, that hour flew by. I had a great time creating alongside everyone, and I left feeling full and inspired. I’m already looking forward to doing it again this week! Moments like this remind me why it’s...

Hey friend! Is it still okay to say “Happy New Year”? It’s not January 1st, but it feels appropriate since this is my first newsletter of 2025. In past years, my Januarys were all about big, bold goals. December was a whirlwind of vision boards, planners, and ambitious resolutions. I’d start the year buzzing with energy, certain this would be the year I accomplished it all. But by mid-January, that excitement often faded, replaced by overwhelm. Sound familiar? This year, I’m taking a...

Hey friend! Life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs, doesn't it? For months, I've been eagerly anticipating my move back to my hometown early this summer. But what I didn't anticipate was the mental juggling act required to navigate building a new house while simultaneously selling my current one. With so much to plan for and uncertainty surrounding the completion date of our new home, my productivity and focus have taken a hit lately. It wasn't until fairly recently that I came to...
