Finish What You Start — Week 3

How Renee Reclaimed Her Creative Joy (Even Before Launching)

Hey friend,

Here’s something we don't talk about enough:

Real progress isn’t just about crossing a finish line. It’s about changing how you feel about your work along the way.

Today, I want to share a real story from inside Momentum Support Club — a story that shows how powerful that shift can be.

Meet Renee.

When she joined MSC, she had a clear goal:

“I want to launch a Substack account in French.”

She knew tasks might take longer than expected, and she was determined not to let that overwhelm her.

In the first few weeks, she dove into planning, researching, and outlining her ideas.

She did everything “right” on paper.

But around Week 3, something powerful surfaced:

“Posting an essay every week would take the fun out of it. I want to think of smaller posts and ideas that are less formal, more whimsical, and fun.”

She realized that the rigid expectations she had set were draining the creativity she wanted to nurture.

Here’s where most people would double down — pushing harder, forcing themselves to “stay disciplined.”

Instead, Renee did something different.

She paused.

She listened to what her creative spirit actually needed.

And she adjusted her plan to match her real energy, not just her original expectations.

Here’s what her check-ins started to reflect:

✅ She began celebrating small wins, even during exhausting weeks.

✅ She got support from a writing instructor to build confidence in her drafts.

✅ She explored art exhibits for inspiration and refueled her creative energy.

✅ She brainstormed playful essay ideas instead of rigid publishing deadlines.

But most importantly?

She experienced a mindset shift that she described as “transformative”:

“I’ve noticed that I seem to have a performance attitude rather than a process mindset.
This revelation is transformative for me.
I don't need others' approval or validation.
I am an artist who wishes to continuously develop her practice and enjoy the process instead of agonizing over the product.”

🧠 Here’s the pivotal insight:

Renee didn't just make progress toward a goal.

She reclaimed her creative joy.

Because sustainable momentum doesn’t come from hustling harder.

It comes from creating a system and a support structure that helps you stay connected to your real creative energy, even when life gets messy.

That’s the heart of what we do inside Momentum Support Club.

Renee didn’t officially launch her Substack during the six weeks.

But she built the foundation for a creative practice that feels sustainable, joyful, and rooted in self-trust.

And honestly?

That’s a bigger win than any deadline.

✨ Tiny Action for the Week:
Instead of asking, “What should I be producing?”
Ask: “What would make this process feel more joyful for me right now?”

That’s the kind of question that leads to sustainable momentum, not just short-term results.

Next week, I’m pulling back the curtain and sharing the simple framework that helps MSC members turn big ideas into tiny, doable actions.

Get ready, your momentum era is just getting started.

Hey, Tiny Action Taker! I’m still buzzing from the very first Hobby Hour I hosted last week! I got the idea a few weeks ago, and instead of overthinking or complicating it, I just went for it—imperfectly. The response was incredible, with several of you joining me live, and let me tell you, that hour flew by. I had a great time creating alongside everyone, and I left feeling full and inspired. I’m already looking forward to doing it again this week! Moments like this remind me why it’s...
