Hey friend! We’ve all been conditioned to love the big leap, the grand gesture. It’s in our movies, our books, our motivational speeches. We’re told that we should do something big if we want to see a change. Move to a new city, start a new business, run a marathon, and the list goes on. While these dramatic shifts can kickstart significant change, they’re not the only pathway to progress and are not always the most effective. They’re daunting, intimidating, and often lead us to procrastination or surrender before we’ve even started. This is where the magic of tiny actions comes in. I’ll be the first to admit that when compared to big leaps, the idea of taking tiny actions isn’t sexy. However, I’m still bullish on tiny actions because it’s founded on a practical, scientifically proven principle: the accumulation of small, consistent efforts often leads to large-scale transformations. (Yay! Science!) So what’s a Tiny Action, you ask? It’s a small, manageable step that aligns with your larger goals and visions. These tiny actions can be as simple as writing for ten minutes each day, walking for half an hour, or dedicating a few minutes to meditation. When we focus on smaller, achievable tasks, we set ourselves up for success rather than overwhelming ourselves with larger, more daunting goals. Tiny actions work because they build on each other, like snowflakes accumulating into a snowball. They help us cultivate habits, break down big goals into manageable pieces, and ensure we’re making continuous progress. Consider this - if you aim to read more books, setting a target of reading for two hours every day may seem challenging. But what about reading for just 15 minutes each day? This small step is less daunting and more likely to be achieved. As you consistently invest those 15 minutes each day, you’ll find yourself finishing book after book without feeling overwhelmed. At the core of tiny actions lies the concept of consistency. It is consistency, not intensity, that yields significant, long-lasting change. Maintaining a new habit or skill is easier when it is built over time, with a foundation of regular, achievable tasks. So, my challenge for you this week? Pick a goal, break it down into bite-sized pieces, and take that tiny action. Remember, it’s not about making one huge leap - it’s about the small steps that get you there. 🌟 LINKS & COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS 🌟🤸🏽♀️ The retired ‘Hot Girl’ in me has still not recovered from Juvenile’s Tiny Desk Concert.
